BE-HOME
DEZIGN and others come together to build and automate
Project 88 at Sanctuary Cove as a charity venture
with Queensland Master Builders, By Design Homes,
Channel 9 and many other contributors. A truly SMART
HOME.
|

The
home is automated using the latest digital power-line technology.
With intelligent modules located on the back of glass touch
wall switches and in the wall cavity the system talks to
lighting and other automated compoinents over the existing
240AC wiring. This means less wiring, more functionality
and you can add more automation later if required. Lighting,
access, security, media, blinds, water and other home functions
are controlled via touch screens and scene wall switches.

from a touch screen. All telephone, data ande video
points were also supplied by BE-HOME DEZIGN and all
data and video is distributed throughout the home.

The
lounge meals area has a drop down projector screen
as wellas a 47 inch LCD panel controlled by the touch
screens. Bose systems are interfaced to the touch
screens and the airconditioning form Advantage Air
has also been interfaced to the system. You can control
it all from touch screens when required.

Located
at the front entry is a touch screen and touch glass
wall switch. Motion detector over the doorway picks
you up and turns on lighting in the hallway.
|
The
system works on the 240AC electrical wiring system in the
home. For most fuctions you do not need to run any more
wires. The electrician just wires the home as you normally
would. This means the home controller can talk to devices
around the home quickly and easily over the 240V wiring.
So you can add more automation on at any time. The touch
wall switches are modern and very functional. They come
in ON/OFF or dimmable units and also include SCENE switches
which can take up to 16 addresses so you can have lots of
lighting and appliance scenes without needing a home controller.
Of course a home controller can be programmed to provide
an amazing aray of additional automated functions.
The
technology can send signals up to 1kilometer away and no
noise filters are required. These systems are set to revolutionise
home automation in the future.

Here
you see the wall switch and touch screens for home automation
control. With all on and all off commands you can go to
bed knowing the lights you left on are now off. You can
control your media playing, water temperature, garage doors,
automated gates and much more.

The
hallway is a major feature and lighting control is
autromated so that when a motion detector picks you
up the system turns on lighting to welcome you home
etc.

The
house is protected by a range of security devices
inside and out. The security system talks to the Sanctuary
Cove secuity company and response is less than 3 minutes
in an emergency.
