Security has become a big issue in todays society.
The HAI controller provides security in your home
as well as automation!
We have color cameras, as well as cameras that see
in the dark with infrared light. We also have cameras
that are color during the day and then switch to B/W
at night for a better night time picture. A DVR can
be configured to only record when motion is detected.
This saves on hard drive space, but also makes it
very easy to play back video from a certain time frame
and only see video from when someone was in the area
(no more fast forwarding a tape looking for movement
and then stopping the tape to play it and see what
actually happened). A DVR also eliminates the constant
changing of tapes. Simply configure it to automatically
record over the oldest recordings.
This could, for example, allow you to always have
the most recent 1 month of video available for review,
with no maintenance of any kind required. Here are

There
is a vast array of highly sophisticated security equipment
on the market and most of it can interface to the
HAI home automation controller.ou can include gate
keeper video intercom systems that show you who is
at the front gate or front door and allow you to answer
the door from any telephone in the home. You can open
the front door from your office over the internet
to let a tradesperson in while you're at work. Using
cameras in the home you can watch the tradesperson
work and lock up after he/she leaves. When the home
detects intrusions, it can email, sms or call any
one of up to 8 telephone numbers including a guard
house or security company or your neighbour. Keyless
door entry with biometrics (fingerprint) tells the
home controller who is home and who has entered. You
can give visitors a time slice during the day to enter
your home or stay for weeks and more! You can monitor
your empire from any room in the home at any time
using video surveillence and remote internet access.
The system will interupt TV to show who is at the
gate or front door. These and many more external security
functions can be governed by the HAI home automation
controller and alerts provided. Exterior security
can be installed before or after the home automation
controller. The HAI controller can replace existing
security control systems or enhance these systems.

This
bullet style camera boasts a 1/3" Panasonic CCD
sensor and 3.6mm lens housed in a rugged black aluminium
case. The unit is supplied complete with adjustable
mounting base and leads. Designed for outdoor use, the
camera is weatherproof, has a viewing angle of 70°
and can be mounted under the eves to keep an eye on
the front gate, the pool or anywhere else you want to
keep under surveillance. The video connector is BNC

Don't
pay thousands of $$$ for a professional quality Pan/Tilt/Zoom
Dome Camera. This PTZ dome camera has features found
on more expensive models. Utilises a 1/3 Sony CCD solid-state
sensor providing long life and high reliability. It
will deliver 480 TV lines of crisp and clear pictures.
The camera provides a 350-degree panning angle, 0 -
90 degree tilt range and incorporates a 3X zoom lens.
Other functions include on screen display and menu selectable,
RS-485 communication protocol for our Mpeg2 DVR (QV-3073),
2 Channel Web Server (QC-3394) or PTZ controller and
receiver connectivity, and it also allows you to have
16 preset camera position.

This
camera features a water resistance rating to IP57 (the
IP57 rating refers to the camera's limited protection
against dust ingress - with no harmful deposit - and the
protection against immersion in water from 1cm to 1m)
- allowing it to be submerged underwater. This makes it
ideal for aquariums or virtually any underwater surveillance
application.
The camera will operate down to 0-lux, courtesy of 12
infrared LEDs mounted behind a protective glass shield.
These IR LEDs automatically trigger-on under low light
levels and turn off when suitable levels of light are
present. The effective range of the infrared illumination
is 10 metres - making the camera ideal for low light-level
entrance surveillance, alleyway monitoring, balcony and
patio surveillance or any area where suitable covering
is unavailable.
When mounted underwater, however, this IR illumination
distance may vary. The camera housing is made of a lightweight
alloy and is supplied with a swivel mount base and mounting
screws. A removable light/rain shield is also included
to provide basic protection to the CCD lens from the elements

With
a DVR there is little that this unit can't handle. By
ultilising the on-board Ethernet connection, you will
have an extremely sophisticated remote monitoring system.
Connecting the LAN to the internet will further broaden
the possibilities. Full control can be obtained from any
internet connected computer in the world. Only an internet
browser is required, with password authentication required
to avoid unauthorised use. If you are using it locally,
the well thought out control panel provides operation
of many sophisticated features, and a small panel of LEDs
provide quick indication of various status and alarm functions.
The multiplexer offers an array of display modes with
the ability to manually select inputs displayed, as well
as the full blown 16 way display. Advanced features such
as picture in picture, image zoom, and reverse playback
are all there, but then you wouldn't expect anything less
from a quality unit like this. Recording can be triggered
manually, with timer recording, alarm inputs, and of course
digital motion detection. |
